A seal of Approval
A sign of confidence
HealthPlus of Michigan has added three new achievements to its long history
of national accolades for health plan performance. The health plan is being
recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a top health plan in the nation
for its Commercial, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid products. The Flint-based
health plan – named a top 50 Commercial plan and a top 25 plan for both
Medicare and Medicaid in the national news magazine’s “U.S. News
and World Report/NCQA America’s Best Health Plans 2005” list – is
the only plan in Michigan and just one of seven nationally to make the published
lists for all three of these products.
HealthPlus’ Medicare Advantage health plan is the only such plan in
Michigan in the top 25 list; its Medicaid plan – known as HealthPlus
Partners – is one of only three Medicaid plans in the state to receive
top 25 recognition.
“I am proud of the national recognition we have received for the high
level of service and clinical quality that we provide for our members,” said
HealthPlus President and CEO David Crosby. “I would like to thank our
members, our employees and our provider partners for working so well together
to manage and improve the health status of our membership.”
The lists were developed by U.S. News and World Report and the National Committee
for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Rankings were based on measurements of health
plans’ clinical quality, access, member satisfaction, and NCQA accreditation
scores. NCQA is an independent organization that evaluates managed care plans
across the nation. Its evaluation process is rigorous and thorough, and its
findings are unbiased and objective. “America’s Best Health Plans
2005” is a trademark of U.S. News and World Report.
